Judy Fitzgerald, CEO & Founding Principal
In January 2009, Judy Fitzgerald established OUR BIG SPLASH LLC – a one-stop profile raising shop specializing in tailored marketing, communications and events.
Prior to establishing her own businesses, Judy was an Associate Director of Macquarie Group Limited. She was based in Chicago as Senior Vice President – Marketing and Communications for Macquarie Real Estate Capital – North America and Europe.
Judy’s responsibility at Macquarie was to protect and enhance the profile of Macquarie Real Estate in North America and Europe. She managed the marketing, PR and communications efforts across the group, as well as events and philanthropic activities.
Judy has lived and worked in Australia, Japan and the US and has experience in professional services spanning the past 16 years. She joined Macquarie in 1999 and spent five years in the Corporate Communications Division in Sydney before she was seconded to Macquarie Real Estate in the US in 2004.
Judy played an integral role in the establishment of the Midwest Community Advisory Committee for the Macquarie Group Foundation. She has been an active volunteer with UNICEF since 2002 including Co-chair of Wine, Women & Shoes Chicago – supporting UNICEF’s Accelerated Child Survival Initiative – 2008-2009; and a member the Steering Committee for the Profile Speak Series – 2010-2012. She is also on the Steering Committee for the International Volunteer Network of Chicago (INVC) – 2009-2012.
Judy is Vice-President of the Midwest chapter of the Australian New Zealand American Chamber of Commerce (ANZACC Midwest). She is a member of the Japan American Association of Chicago (JASC), the Business Marketing Association (BMA) Chicago, and The City Club of Chicago.
Judy holds a Master of Arts – International Relations with a sub-major in international media, politics and economics (Deakin). She has a Bachelor of Arts, Modern Languages – Japanese with a sub-major in management (UCAN) and a Diploma in Financial Markets (SIA/FINSIA). Judy also participated in the Rotary International Youth Exchange Program as an exchange student to Japan – 1991-1992.
